“Good night, Chilkat. Sleep well. I love you.”
“I don’t love you, Daddy.”

We’re on the freeway. “Look, Daddy! A dog!”
I panic a little, but don’t see any dog. “Where, Chilkat?”
Pointing at a cloud, “Up there!” She’s completely right. Moments later, “Oh no, it’s breaking!”
“Don’t worry, maybe it’ll change into something else.”
Moments later, “Now it’s an elephant, Daddy!”

I’m trying to get my phone to do things via voice command through Bluetooth in my car. It’s not working well.
“Mommy’s works better than yours, Daddy.”
Struggles continue. “See, your car doesn’t work very well.”

We’re on the couch. We have guests in town, Jill and Allen. She says to me, “Daddy, can I have a treat?”
“No, Chilkat, you just had one.”
She turns to her mother. “Mommy, can I have a treat?”
KrisDi says, “No, sweetie, Daddy said no.” Chilkat is visibly upset.
Jill cracks up. She says, “You know, it would work better if they weren’t in the same room at the same time when you did that, Chilkat.”
Chilkat turns to Jill. “Jill, can I have a treat?”
